In conjunction with a three-bay garage, these homeowners wanted a space that could serve two purposes: a private studio for recording music, and a guest apartment when needed. The result does both without compromising either. Reclaimed barn-board flooring and  ceiling, decorative rafters, nickel-gap interior cladding, and custom millwork by Josh Trimpi Woodworking give the space a material warmth that works equally well for music and for guests. A  tiled shower with a custom glass shower enclosure completes the apartment functionality.
